At the initiative of Head of Government Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, the Executive institutes an interministerial price monitoring body to protect households ahead of the month of Ramadan.
Preserving social cohesion and protecting citizens’ standard of living stand at the core of national public action. Following a high-level meeting held on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, in Rabat under the chairmanship of Head of Government Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, the Executive officialised the creation of an interministerial committee responsible for ensuring ongoing price monitoring. This body’s primary mission is to track market trends across national markets and decide on emergency measures to shield households from inflationary pressures. This government mobilization specifically targets the regulation of essential goods and basic food items in heavy demand during the weeks preceding the holy month of Ramadan.
Cross-ministerial mobilization to regulate the market
This initiative relies on close coordination among all strategic ministerial departments in the Kingdom. The meeting brought together officials from Interior, Economy and Finance, Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, as well as Transport and the General Secretariat of the Government. This interministerial synergy aims to activate all necessary economic and logistical levers to ensure a smooth and continuous supply to regional markets. The committee will hold regular working sessions to monitor distribution networks, combat commercial speculation, and ensure fair prices for consumers.
Household support and strengthening local economic benefits
Faced with global economic pressures felt by working and middle classes, the Executive reaffirms its commitment to delivering government programme directions through concrete actions on the ground. The Head of Government emphasized that mitigating the impact of price rises is an imperative for consolidating social cohesion across the entire national territory. This approach directly aligns with the directions of the 2027 Finance Bill, which combines tax relief with the strengthening of direct social assistance mechanisms. By ensuring market stability, the government also supports independent traders and local MSMEs, enabling better value redistribution within the Moroccan economy.
