The second edition of the Investment March brought together over 200 participants in Agadir to transform the potential of Moroccans abroad into economic projects in Souss-Massa.
Mobilizing the skills and capital of Moroccans residing abroad is asserting itself as a strategic lever for regional development. Organized on 28 and 29 October 2026 in Agadir by the Cluster Souss Massa Promotion, the second edition of the Investment March gathered 260 participants who came to explore economic opportunities in the region. Marked by a doubling of participation compared to the previous edition, this gathering brought together institutional officials, local economic players, and diaspora entrepreneur networks. During the forum’s opening, the President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, Karim Achengli, emphasized the central role of Moroccans of the world in the economic transformation of the territory and in accelerating regional investment momentum.
Tailored support to enhance projects by Moroccans of the world
The event highlighted the support ecosystem established to facilitate investor setup and value creation in the region. Thanks to the active participation of the Souss-Massa Regional Investment Centre, Maroc PME, and the Regional Development Company dedicated to tourism and MSMEs, project leaders were able to discover the available technical and financial support mechanisms. Discussions also extended beyond financial aspects to address the valuation of intellectual capital through the FikraMRE initiative, designed to channel the skills, know-how, and expertise of diaspora professionals into the Kingdom’s future-oriented sectors.
Structuring networks and consolidating the local MSME fabric
To sustain this momentum, panel discussions stressed the need to structure diaspora entrepreneur networks into effective platforms for concrete action. In the presence of the President of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad, Driss El Yazami, as well as representatives from chambers of commerce and professional associations across several European countries and Canada, participants agreed to build lasting partnerships with local institutions. This approach will rely on a network of over 130 economic ambassadors for Souss-Massa and an operational roadmap deployed over the next twelve months, aimed at consolidating the local micro, small, and medium-sized business fabric ahead of the third edition scheduled for October 2027.
