Upon arrival in Mauritania, the delegation visited the headquarters of the Mauritanian Football Federation, a step that highlighted both the structural progress and the guiding vision behind the development of Mauritanian football.
On site, the caravan discovered a modern and fully operational headquarters, featuring functional offices, a conference room designed in the shape of a football pitch, and a sports medicine center intended to play a central role in player and athlete medical care.
The delegation also learned about the expansion of the Mauritanian Football Federation Academy headquarters, already in operation and capable of welcoming an increasing number of young players aged 11 to 15 under suitable training conditions.
This immersion was made possible thanks to the attentive support and decisive assistance of Ahmed Yahya, President of the Mauritanian Football Federation. His leadership, forward-looking vision, and sustained commitment to the growth of Mauritanian and African football greatly facilitated the delegation’s passage and warm reception in Mauritania.
This momentum forms part of the Cotonou–Rabat Road Trip, embedded within the pan-African initiative “Destination Morocco 2025: Land of Football,” and echoes the vision inspired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for a unifying African football ecosystem. On the ground, this vision is carried forward under the guidance of Zul Zelkifli Rahman Ngoufonja, head of delegation.
