Another Historic World Cup for Morocco
Morocco once again established itself among the world’s football elite by reaching the quarter-finals for the second consecutive FIFA World Cup, becoming the first African and Arab nation to achieve that feat.
The Atlas Lions opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Brazil, before defeating Scotland (1-0) and Haiti (4-2) to finish second in their group.
They then eliminated the Netherlands on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the Round of 32 and defeated Canada 3-0 in the Round of 16. Their inspiring journey came to an end with a 2-0 defeat to France in the quarter-finals at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
Despite the elimination, Morocco leaves the tournament with its reputation further enhanced, reinforcing its status as one of Africa’s leading football nations and a consistent contender on the global stage.
